VFX compositing and editing are essential aspects of the visual effects (VFX) pipeline in the film, television, and multimedia industries. They involve combining and manipulating various elements, such as live-action footage, computer-generated imagery (CGI), and visual effects assets, to create seamless and realistic visual compositions.
VFX compositing refers to the process of blending and integrating multiple visual elements to create a final shot. This involves tasks like color grading, matte painting, rotoscoping, keying (removing or replacing backgrounds), tracking, and match-moving. Compositing artists use software like Adobe After Effects, Nuke, or Blackmagic Fusion to layer and manipulate these elements, ensuring they appear cohesive and realistic within the scene. VFX editing, on the other hand, focuses on assembling and refining the visual sequences within a project.
